Google and Motorola goes official with Project Ara Module Developers Kit MDK



So folks, we actually know what Google and Motorola is meaning with their new Project Ara platform, as we have already discussed that in our previous articles. Today the companies announced the availability of the Project Aras Module Developers Kit (MDK) for dedicated developers interested.

We are just days behind their their official Press Conference to go live, and now it is said that, the Project Ara team is welcoming new developers to input to the Module Developers Kit or MDK, either through the Module Developers mailing list or forum.

The newly available MDK consists of an on-device packet-switched data network based on the MIPI UniPro protocol stack, a flexible power bus, an elegant industrial design that unites modules to the endoskeleton and the basic design guidelines, that marks out module dimensions and more . The new update on the companys domain also mentions that, throughout this year, the Motorola Project Ara team will be working on a series of Alpha and Beta versions of their Module Developers Kit (MDK) releases.

The displayed documentation below shows us that, the Project Ara will arrive in three different sizes of endoskeletons, mentioned Mini, Medium and Large (Future Release), in order the bigger ones will compensate more number of modules on board, compared to the smaller versions. Users of the Ara also have the choice to select between a a full-fledged touchscreen setup or screen shared with a physical QWERTY keyboard and number pads.
